“A change process begins with an awareness that something needs to change.”

flow.market.04I’ve been thinking of doing something like this for a worship space, but I  guess someone’s already beat me too it (and much more beautifully designed than I’d have done it as well). The guys behind Flowmarket (Mads Hagstrøm) have set up temporary stores selling their products which they themselves describe as “An empty sealed can that materializes immaterial needs.”

A mix between art, activism, protest, design (may i suggest worship? or at the very least it acknowledges that for many people shopping =  worship and thus turns the experience on it’s head) these “shops” or “spaces” look like they’re pretty stunning and can be set up anywhere and could cross over multiple cultures as well (and at $19.97US per can I wonder if they’re profitable).

Read an interview with Mads Hagstrom here on his work with the Flow Institute.

Read a reflection piece written by Mads Hagstrom titled “Imagine” here, (this would make a great basis for a liturgical reflection).

Hat-tip to Barry Taylor for the link to FlowMarket
